New
Ground's 'Primitive' features two actors
By Julie Jensen, ARGUS/DISPATCH --
October 15, 2003
Chris Jansen,
artistic director of New Ground Theatre, says,
"I have a terrific cast for 'The Primitive,'
which opens the day after Thanksgiving.''
This is a two-character comedy which follows a
relationship as it ``evolves'' literally through the
Cretaceous, the Neolithic and Civilized periods to
modern-day Manhattan.
It was written by Todd Irvine, a Jerome Fellowship
winner from the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis,
who died tragically last year at the age of 41 from
complications of diabetes and kidney failure.
Jamie Johnson will play H and Dan Hale will play G
in "The Primitive.'' This is Ms. Johnson's
third role with New Ground, and she's fresh from her
part in Circa '21's "Catch Me If You Can.'' Mr.
Hale is a recent Irene Ryan National winner from St.
Ambrose, where he is a senior.
