 Artistic Director Chris
Jansen grew up in the Quad Cities and got her theatre
degree from the University of Iowa. After college, she worked
with The Old Creamery Theatre Co. and helped to found A
Theatre of Two Cities in Minneapolis. She received her MFA in
playwriting from Brandeis University. While on the east coast,
she worked with Playwrights Platform in Boston, Mass., and
Trinity Rep. in Providence, RI. Her plays have been produced
by West Cost Ensemble in Los Angeles (where her play
"Dream A Little Dream of Me" won a DramaLogue Award
for Best One-Act), Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall Summer Theatre
School, Brandeis University, and the University of Iowa.
After returning to the Quad Cities, she founded New Ground
Theatre in 2001.
